Marquis Who’s Who Celebrates Rick Crowe for Excellence in Hospitality and Business Ownership

ASHBURN, VA, July 16th, 2025 – Rick Crowe has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who’s Who. As in all Marquis Who’s Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Today, Rick Crowe is best known as the Managing Partner and Owner of D.C. Prime Steak & Seafood, a premier dining destination in Northern Virginia known for its chef-driven menus, a 500+ bottle award-winning wine program, and one of the most extensive bourbon collections in the Mid-Atlantic. But his story — and impact — spans decades, cities, and concepts.
Crowe’s journey began humbly in 1993 as a dining room manager at LongHorn Steakhouse in Columbia, South Carolina. A year later, his talent was recognized by LongHorn franchise owner Bill Dukes, who recruited Crowe to help launch the new Blue Marlin seafood concept in Charlotte. Within eight months, Crowe became Dukes’ partner and General Manager. By 1998, the Blue Marlin had expanded to six locations across the Southeast — a rare entrepreneurial feat in the industry.
Since then, Crowe has shaped the trajectory of several elite brands, including P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, McKendrick’s Steakhouse in Atlanta, and Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Charlotte, where he served as General Manager under the Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group. Across each role, his signature approach — high expectations, deep mentorship, and a guest-first philosophy — has elevated both operations and people.

When Crowe opened D.C. Prime in 2015, he brought all that experience together to create a restaurant built around intentional excellence. From the service model to the curated wine list, every element reflects his belief that a great restaurant should feel like an escape — one that’s personal, refined, and rooted in human connection.
“As much as I love the business side, my passion has always been about elevating the guest experience,” says Crowe. “Whether you’re coming in for a glass of wine or a 3-course celebration, our goal is to make you feel seen, understood, and indulged.”
For his contributions to the industry, D.C. Prime has earned the prestigious DiRōNA “Gold” Award, and Crowe has gained national recognition as both a builder of brands and a mentor to the next generation of culinary leaders. In honoring Rick Crowe, Marquis Who’s Who recognizes not just a career of impact, but a leader whose influence continues to shape what hospitality can — and should — be.
